Muhammad Asif Noor Farooqi is Founder Director of Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies( A Research Think Tank working on Peace, Conflicts and other issues) Pakistan I am also Editor-In-Chief of Pakistan’s First English/Arabic/Persian multi-lingual magazine The Diplomatic Insight. The magazine has a theme objective of Peace Through Informed Dialogue publishing since December 2007.
He is Country Civil Society Chapter Coordinator of United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) for Pakistan to promote inter-cultural dialogue and harmony amongst different religions and sects.
He holds Masters Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-I-Azam University and another M.A in Pakistan Affairs and Diploma in Peace & Futuristic Studies. Mr.Asif Noor has established Community Support Programme (CSP)- an NGO based in Islamabad but has an outreach to all over Pakistan. CSP takes bold initiatives in order to create awareness about the socio-economic and political conditions in the country at grass root level thus to strive for peace in the society through adopting a participatory approach, believing in the importance of community and self-help.
He is the Chief Organizer Quaid-I-Azam University Alumni Association- an Alumni network of Pakistan’s premier University with having Alumni working at highest level of public and private sector. He is the board member Liberal Forum Pakistan and member Advisory Council, The Orchestra, Police School of Music and Arts. The Orchestra, Police School of Music and Arts, is a Community Welfare Project of Islamabad Capital Territory Police. He is also President of Azerbaijan Pakistan Youth Society.
Mr. Asif Noor is writer , columnist and author of several books like “Azerbaijan-Pakistan Relations: Challenges and Opportunities”, “Knowing Brazil” in English and Urdu languages, “Pakistan-Kazakhstan Relations”. These books are being authored in collaboration with the missions in Pakistan in order to promote relations and explore opportunities of cooperation. He has special interest is in Central Asia and Caucasian Regions. He has written many articles on Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
He participated in different International Conferences all over the world. He has also organized International, National Conferences, Seminars and workshops on different issues.
He is Book Ambassador of National Book Foundation, Government of Pakistan. He was Election Observer of European Union in Elections 2008 in Pakistan.
He travelled to many countries like Germany, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Thailand, Nepal, India, UAE and many others..
