Ms. Imtashal Tariq
Ms. Imtashal Tariq serves as a consultant for IPDS and is assisting in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the projects. Ms. Tariq is an American-Pakistan criminologist and has over five years of experience with development and Humanitarian projects in South Asia and the Middle East. She was awarded the Gates Cambridge Scholarship for her MPhil in Criminological Research from the University of Cambridge. She also holds a BA in International Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. Ms. Tariq was awarded the Vera Institute of Justice Fellowship and Columbia University’s Beyond the Bars Fellowship. Ms. Tariq is also an adjunct professor at the City University of New York where she teaches gender and crime, conflict resolution and criminology. Ms. Tariq is a New York native and is passionate about promoting gender equality and human rights of prisoners.
