Shanghai Cooperation Organization Studies Centre has been initiated and established keeping in view Pakistan’s constructive and productive regional presence at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) when the country has become the permanent member in 2017. The Centre has been established to promote the “Shanghai Spirit” – the core value of the SCO featuring mutual trust, mutual respect, equality, respect for diverse civilizations and pursuit for shared development and prosperity.

Keeping in view, SCO Studies Centre will be focusing on the Nine Core Key Objectives of Education, Energy, Economy, Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, Expedition, Employment, Entertainment (Print and Electronic Media) and Environment to explore the possibilities of developing deep-rooted linkages within the SCO member countries and benefiting Pakistan and its citizens through “Connecting People and Providing Opportunities”.  

SCO Studies Centre is multiplying the core values of Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies and is meant to provide, Action Research, Advocacy, Education and Trainings and Consultancy services in the thematic areas for diverse groups of communities from across the region.  

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Studies Centre offers a range of services to promote the core values of the SCO, including organizing conferences, seminars, and thematic workshops, conducting research, providing consultancies, and delivering briefings. Additionally, the center is committed to building institutions related to its defined focus and scope. They strive to connect people and provide opportunities for deep-rooted linkages within the SCO member countries, benefiting Pakistan and its citizens.

Pakistan-Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Friendship Forum (PSCOFF):

The main emphasis of the PSCOFF is to build relationships among the communities and diverse groups within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries.

Keeping in view Pakistan’s presence Primary focus of PSCOFF is on Nine E’s i.e. Education, Energy, Economy, Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, Expedition, Employment, Entertainment( Print and Electronic Media), and Environment to explore the possibilities of developing deep-rooted linkages within the SCO member countries and benefiting Pakistan and its citizens through “Connecting People and Providing Opportunities”.

The aim also is to raise awareness about the potential of SCO within Pakistan and jointly address the issues of the societies covered by the SCO member states through improved public engagement and diplomacy. Recent Initiatives: Establishment of PakSCO Business Council, SCO Studies Diploma, Workshop on ExploringBusiness Opportunitiesin SCO Region. 

The wide range of services offered includes business, education, and other consultancies, the building of institutions related to the scope and focus of the organization, research, education, lobbying for Pakistan, and media services. It is also committed to promoting a positive image of Pakistan through public diplomacy and people-to-people contacts.

Pakistan-Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Business Council:

This council aims to promote greater understanding and development of deep-rooted linkages for Pakistan’s economic and business sectors with communities in these states. Services provided include business consultancies and building of institutions related to the defined scope and focus
