Partner missions

Since 2016, embassies, high commissions and international organisations in Islamabad have opened their doors to IYDS cohorts. 26 countries, the European Union and 6 UN agencies and bodies have partnered with the School, and 13 missions have received more than one cohort.

Why missions partner with the School

Public diplomacy with a purpose

Reach the next generation

A selected cohort of students, young professionals and entrepreneurs from across Pakistan, and from abroad, who will shape the country’s view of the world.

Public diplomacy, in person

A direct, informal conversation about your country, its foreign policy and its relations with Pakistan, the kind of exchange no campaign can buy.

Recorded and reported

Every session is reported by The Diplomatic Insight, IPDS’s sister publication, and shared on IPDS channels, with photographs for the mission’s own use.

Minimal demand on the mission

One session of an hour or two, at the chancery or the residence. IPDS handles everything else.

Scholarships and exchanges

A natural audience for your scholarships, exchange programmes, study opportunities and cultural offers.

A lasting relationship

Many partners receive a cohort year after year; the School becomes part of the mission’s annual outreach.

A typical session

What happens when a cohort visits

  1. Arrival. The cohort arrives together, on time, with the security list already cleared with the mission.
  2. Welcome. The ambassador or a senior diplomat welcomes the group, often with a short film or presentation on the country.
  3. Briefing. The country, its foreign policy and its relations with Pakistan: trade, education, culture, cooperation.
  4. Questions. An open, candid exchange. Participants come prepared, and the conversation is the heart of the School.
  5. Optional. A tour of the mission, a presentation on scholarships, or the award of certificates to the cohort.

Ways to partner

Choose the part that suits your mission

Receive a cohort

Host a session at the chancery or residence during a cohort’s three days.

02

Open a cohort

Host the inaugural session, as the Embassies of Romania, the Philippines, Austria and Egypt have done.

03

Close a cohort

Host the closing session and present certificates, as the Ambassadors of Italy and Thailand, and the British High Commission, have done.

04

Brief on opportunities

Present your scholarships, exchange programmes and study options to an interested audience.

05

Invite the cohort

Invite selected participants to a national day reception or cultural event, as the Embassy of Azerbaijan did in 2026.

06

Co-convene a cohort

Support a themed cohort, fund places for participants, or work with IPDS to hold the School with a partner institution in your capital.
