Ministries, embassies, international organisations, chambers of commerce and universities engage IPDS for independent research and risk analysis, for dialogue convened on neutral ground, for public diplomacy and for the training of their officials and staff.
Since 2014, IPDS has worked alongside governments, diplomatic missions and international institutions through its research centres, its dialogues and its programmes. Institutions engage us when they need an independent view of Pakistan and its region, a neutral setting for dialogue, or training shaped around the work of their own officials and staff.
Each engagement is led by one of the nine IPDS centres of study and reviewed by our Research Desk. It is held to the same standards of independence and evidence as everything we publish.
Foreign ministries and public bodies seeking independent analysis, Track 1.5 dialogue or training for their officials.
Missions in Islamabad and Pakistan’s missions abroad: background research, commemorations, cultural programmes and dialogue.
UN agencies, multilateral institutions and development partners preparing programmes in Pakistan and the region.
Organisations that need to understand Pakistan and its neighbourhood before they decide.
Research partners, co-hosts of dialogues and supporters of joint programmes.
Tell us what you need through the enquiry form. A member of the team replies to arrange a short conversation.
We discuss the question, the audience, the timeline and any constraints, and suggest the format that fits.
A short proposal sets out the scope, method, team, deliverables, timeline and fee. Nothing starts until it is agreed in writing.
The work is carried out by the relevant IPDS centre, with editorial review by the Research Desk before anything is delivered.
We present the findings or run a debriefing, and agree any follow-on work.
Fees depend on scope and are set out in the proposal. Timeframes on each page are typical ranges, confirmed for each engagement.
IPDS is an independent, nonpartisan institute. These commitments apply to every engagement:
IPDS keeps full editorial control of anything published under its name. Findings are not agreed with, or changed for, the organisation that commissioned the work.
Commissioned work can stay confidential to the organisation that asked for it. If it is published, the commissioning organisation is named.
IPDS does not lobby or campaign on behalf of any government, company or organisation.
We decline work that would conflict with our nonpartisan mandate or with existing commitments, and we tell you early if we cannot take a project on.
Every engagement follows the IPDS research and editorial standards.
Choose the route closest to your institution’s request. Each one asks for the details our team needs to reply properly the first time.
