Research Independence & Non-Partisanship
IPDS is a non-partisan, non-advocacy institution. We do not endorse political parties, candidates, or governments, and we do not take institutional positions on policy debates. Analysis published under the IPDS name reflects the professional judgment of our researchers, reached through evidence-based inquiry. Where a publication carries a named author, the views expressed are the author's own; institutional publications reflect consensus reached through our internal review process.
Conflict of Interest
Researchers, fellows, and board members disclose any personal, financial, or professional interest that could reasonably be seen to influence their work at IPDS, and recuse themselves from projects where such an interest arises. This ensures that our analysis is shaped by evidence, not by outside interests.
Research Quality & Review
Every substantive IPDS publication is reviewed before release. Reviewers check that claims are supported by cited evidence, that sourcing and methodology are sound, and that relevant alternative perspectives have been fairly represented. Flagship publications may also draw on an outside expert reviewer in addition to internal review.
Corrections & Accuracy
We take factual accuracy seriously. Readers and partners may flag a suspected error to our editorial desk at any time. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly in the published version, with a note describing what changed.
Research Ethics & Attribution
IPDS publications meet standard academic norms of honesty, sourcing, and attribution. External sources, data, and quotations are properly cited, and original analysis is clearly distinguished from summarized third-party material. Plagiarism or misrepresentation of sources is treated as a serious breach of professional conduct.
