Who is the programme for?
Undergraduate and postgraduate students of International Relations, Political Science and related fields; early and mid-career professionals in diplomacy, government, international organisations, development and business; and entrepreneurs seeking a better understanding of trade diplomacy and economic ties between countries.
Is there an age limit?
The School is designed for young and emerging leaders; most participants are between 18 and 40. Experienced professionals above 40 are welcome to apply and are considered on their motivation and background.
Can I apply from outside Pakistan?
Yes. The fee for participants joining from abroad is USD 250. You arrange and pay for your own travel, visa and accommodation. Once your seat is confirmed, IPDS can provide a letter confirming your place in the programme.
Which embassies will we visit?
Missions vary by cohort, depending on their schedules. Recent cohorts have visited embassies and high commissions from Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, ASEAN and the Americas, as well as UN agencies. See every past cohort. The full schedule is shared with confirmed participants.
Why do you need my identity details?
Diplomatic missions are located in secure areas, so participants’ identity details are collected in advance for security approval. IPDS asks for these only from confirmed participants and shares them only with the host missions and the relevant authorities.
Is there a dress code?
Business or formal dress is expected at all sessions, as participants are guests of diplomatic missions.
What if I cannot attend or arrive late?
Failure to attend, arriving late or missing sessions does not qualify for a refund, and partial attendance does not entitle you to a partial refund.
Will my photograph be published?
Sessions are photographed and reported by IPDS and The Diplomatic Insight. By applying, you agree that programme photographs in which you appear may be published.
