Institute of Peace and Diplomacy (IPD) Established

The Institute of Peace and Diplomacy (IPD) was formally registered in Islamabad in June 2013, laying the groundwork for what would grow into the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS). The institute set out as an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit think tank dedicated to peace, diplomacy, and dialogue-driven research. Its formal launch followed in February 2014, when Prof. Dr. Johan Galtung, the Father of Global Peace Studies, laid the foundation stone at the institute’s inaugural conference.
