Pakistan in the SCO Pathways to Regional Cooperation and Development

The Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) in collaboration with PSCOFF organized a seminar on “Pakistan’s Permanent Membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO): Opportunities and Challenges.” The seminar brought together diplomats, scholars, policymakers, and experts to deliberate on Pakistan’s strategic role within SCO and its implications for regional peace, connectivity, trade, and security. Speakers highlighted the potential benefits of enhanced cooperation with SCO member states, particularly in areas of economic development, counterterrorism, and regional integration, while also addressing the challenges Pakistan may face in maximizing its role as a permanent member of the Organization.
